Wanderer AI: An Intelligent Discovery System That Understands Your Location

A smart digital guide application model is proposed that displays nearby places on a map based on the user's current location and provides AI-powered summary information about selected points of interest. Unlike classic map applications, the developed system not only lists places but also generates concise, natural language answers to questions such as "What is it famous for?", "What feature is most liked?", and "Why should I go, in short?" about the location the user clicks on. By combining location services with large language models, the application aims to provide a dynamic, contextual, and user-friendly experience. This model offers a next-generation digital guide solution in tourism technologies based on an AI-driven content understanding and summarization approach.

Today's travelers need quick and understandable information in the cities they visit. Existing map applications can display nearby restaurants, cafes, museums, or tourist attractions; however, they fail to meaningfully present information such as why these places are important, what makes them stand out, or what features users appreciate most. Users often have to read lengthy reviews, which prolongs the decision-making process.

The proposed Traveler AI in this study is a location-based smart guide application that interacts through a map interface. The system detects the user's location and visually presents nearby places on the map. When the user clicks on any point on the map, the system analyzes the basic data related to that place with the help of artificial intelligence and generates a short, understandable summary.

For example, when a user clicks on a restaurant, instead of just showing the address and rating, the system can provide information such as:

"This place is especially famous for its stone oven-baked pides. User reviews highlight the delicious taste and fast service the most. It can get crowded in the evenings."

Similarly, when a historical site is clicked, the system can generate a concise explanation such as:

"This structure dates back to the 13th century and is one of the city's most important landmarks. Visitors particularly appreciate its architectural details and views."

The system's main innovation is that it interprets raw user reviews and ratings to create summaries in natural language. Thanks to large language models, it can analyze hundreds of reviews and identify common themes. Thus, instead of reading lengthy reviews, users can get an idea of the place in just a few sentences.

The application can also provide contextual answers to questions such as "What is it famous for?", "What times are busy?", "Who is it suitable for?". For example, categories such as family-friendly places, romantic settings, or places suitable for student budgets can be extracted by artificial intelligence.

Technically, the system collects information obtained from location services, map APIs, and data provider platforms on a central server. The large language model processes this data to produce meaningful and concise content. Thus, instead of a classic listing approach, a digital guide that works with the logic of a decision support system emerges.

This approach is of great importance to the tourism industry. The user experience is simplified, the decision time is shortened, and the possibility of personalization increases. In addition, the system can learn user preferences over time and provide more accurate recommendations.

In conclusion, Traveler AI combines the map-based exploration experience with artificial intelligence, making classic guide applications smarter and more user-oriented. This model has the potential to form the basis of digital tourism applications in the future.
